Jerry, an Army veteran who served our nation from 1968 to 1971, has always been the kind of man who takes care of things himself. But as the years passed, he found it harder to keep up with the little tasks around the house. His biggest concern, though, was not for himself. It was for his wife, Millie. Millie is unable to drive, and day after day she was stuck at home, longing for connection and companionship. 

With the rising costs of lumber and other materials, even simple projects like building a deck have become a financial challenge. When Elaine and her Air Force veteran (1970-1990) husband, Matt, received quotes that were far beyond their budget, Matt decided to take on the deck rebuild himself. Elaine, who had learned about AKWP at her local vet center, reached out for support.
